Prof Chris Paris

Chris Paris is visiting the University of South Australia in November and December 2017, to collaborate on the ARC Linkage Project “Local Government and Housing in Australia for the 21st Century”. He is Emeritus Professor of Housing, Ulster University, and a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences. Chris was Professor of Housing Studies at Ulster University 1992-2008. He has held senior academic appointments in Australia and the UK as well as visiting professorships in Australia and Hong Kong.

Chris has published widely in housing and related areas, including his international comparative book on second homes: Affluence, Mobility and Second Home Ownership (Routledge, 2011). Recent publications have included work of the housing of the super-rich, transnational housing markets, and second home ownership in Australia and Europe.

Chris has extensive experience of applied research and consulting in the UK, Ireland and Australia, specialising in relationships between demography and housing provision.
