Michael Klerck is the Social Policy and Research Manager at Tangentyere Council where he has worked since March 2008. He has a multidimensional skill set underpinned by graduate and postgraduate qualifications in science, loss, grief and trauma. His professional interests include Governance; Housing; Health; Climate Change and Heat Mitigation; Energy Security; and the Built Environment. Michael is an Conjoint Fellow at the University of Newcastle; and the Australian National University. Right now Michael is concerned about the construction of 5-Star Energy Rated houses in remote and regional Northern Territory where the weather is very extreme. Recent research publications have focussed on energy insecurity in remote NT as measured by prepayment meter involuntary disconnections impacting 91% of remote households on a weekly basis.
