 Chris Hotham

Chris is the Acting Deputy Secretary and Director of Housing, Housing and Infrastructure Division in the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services.

The Housing and Infrastructure Division provides a dedicated portfolio focus on housing, and best practice leadership for infrastructure planning and project delivery across health and human services portfolios.

Chris’s substantive role is Executive Director, Policy and Precincts in the Housing and Infrastructure Division, Department of Health and Human Services. He is responsible for strategic policy and reform for social housing and improving the Victorian community’s access to suitable and stable housing through the Victorian Government’s priority precincts agenda. He has been instrumental in delivering whole-of-government initiatives such as Homes for Victorians.

Prior to this, Chris has held a number of senior roles across a variety of government portfolios including economic strategy with a focus on jobs, investment and long-term prosperity; energy and climate change with a focus on forging key relationships between the government and private sector, carbon pricing and leading the foundational work for the Victorian Climate Change Act.
