Chief Executive Officer Ken Marchingo AM is a homelessness services and social housing specialist who has dedicated his working life to helping and housing the most vulnerable.
Widely acknowledged for his expertise and professionalism, Ken was appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia in the 2018 Australia Day Honours list for significant services to the community through social welfare programs and associations, particularly assistance for the homeless.
A 35-year veteran of the sector, Ken took over the organisation in 1994. At the time, the agency was on the verge of insolvency. Under his astute stewardship, the organisation has grown year on year and now boasts annual revenue of $38M+, employs more than 170 staff across five offices, and has $350M+ in assets.
The recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from PowerHousing Australia, the national industry advocacy body he helped establish more than a decade ago, Ken has also held the position of Chair of the International Housing Partnership (IHP) and is a regular national and international keynote speaker.
Ken currently co-chairs Victoria’s State Sector Affordable Housing Working Group with the Director of Housing.
Officially acclaimed a ‘Local Hero’ in his hometown of Bendigo, Ken is also the proud patron of the Bendigo and Central Victoria Community Foundation and an Honorary Life Governor of the Royal Children’s Hospital.
